Mesa Verde National Park is a United States Park located in Colorado. It covers 52 000 acres of sandstone canyons. Native Americans built their homes into the sides of cliffs, and now there are find over 4 000 archeological sites and more than 600 cliff dwellings. The culture represented at Mesa Verde reflects more than 700 years of history
Ready for a visit?
Go to Cliff Palace, Balcony House, or Long House, you will first need
to purchase a tour ticket. Ranger-guided tours are offered seasonally,
and provide you with the opportunity to hike into and experience these
Ancestral Puebloan sites. Tour tickets can ONLY be purchased in person
at the Far View Visitor Center. (From Oct. 17 to Nov. 6, tickets are
available at the Chapin Museum.)
